Co-Moderator, A Safe Ocean Wrap-Up, hosted by the UN Ocean Decade (8 April 2022)

The Pacific Community and its UN Ocean Decade counterparts made for excellent collaborators in preparations for the UN Ocean Decade Laboratory, Satellite Activities and Wrap-Up on the theme, ‘A Safe Ocean’.

It was a pleasure to moderate the SPC Satellite Event ‘Vaka Moana: A Safe Pacific Ocean’ and to work with the brilliant Monika Jones in co-moderating the Global Wrap-Up for ‘A Safe Ocean’.

My thanks go to all speakers, the amazing Dr Katy Soapi and her wonderful colleagues at SPC as well as their Ocean Management and Literacy Team, and the Pacific Community Centre for Ocean Science (PCCOS) for the opportunity to learn more about their important work and why it matters so much for our oceanic region and the planet.
