Moderator, Public Policy Dialogue: ‘Towards Inclusive Economic Recovery in the Pacific’, hosted by The University of the South Pacific (SAFE) and the World Bank (1 April 2022)

Pacific countries are grappling with the combined impacts of climate change and the COVID-19 pandemic, in addition to ongoing challenges such as digital connectivity, geographical isolation and gender-based violence.

In an effort to generate public dialogue through inclusive engagement – especially from young people, The University of the South Pacific’s School of Accounting, Finance and Economics (SAFE) and the World Bank hosted a regional seminar at the USP Laucala campus in Suva, Fiji on Friday 1 April 2022, to discuss the theme: “Towards Inclusive Economic Recovery in the Pacific.”

It was a pleasure to moderate this dialogue and contribute to the development of the program, hopefully the first of many, and it is hoped that the insights, analysis, and discussions from these seminars will help increase awareness and promote regional dialogue on key aspects of social and economic recovery in the Pacific.
