Moderator, Talanoa Series on Localising Pacific Climate Consulting, Talanoa Session 1 - Pacific experience essential: Opportunities to localise consultancy roles in the Pacific (2 November 2021)

In November 2021, the Australia Pacific Climate Alumni Network, in collaboration with a diverse range of consultants from the Pacific, organised a Talanoa Series on Localising Pacific Climate Consulting.

I thoroughly enjoyed moderating the opening session of the month-long series, Talanoa Session 1: Pacific experience essential -Opportunities to localise consultancy roles in the Pacific on Tuesday 2 November.

Consultants on the panel included Rebecca Bogiri (Vanuatu), Nadia Meredith-Hunt (Samoa), Ana Laqeretabua (Fiji), Dr Transform Aqorau (Solomon Islands) and Taholo Kami (Tonga, Fiji).

With over 130 people joining the call and staying throughout the discussion, this was testament to the panellists’ insightful contributions. They shared so openly and gave voice to many in generating dialogue on how we might collaborate for an equitable, impactful and localised consulting landscape in the Pacific.
