COP23 Climate Justice Campaign, Oxfam in the Pacific (2017)

Oxfam in the Pacific, led by Regional Director Raijeli Nicole, took a message of solidarity with Large Ocean States of the Pacific to the COP23 global climate negotiations in 2017.

Oxfam in the Pacific called for climate action to reduce emissions and climate justice to address the realities of displacement and loss and damage.

I spent a year as Regional Communications Coordinator for Oxfam in the Pacific in 2017, and developed digital campaign materials for COP23 (translated into French and Spanish for use across Oxfam’s global platforms), collaborated with Oxfam Australia and other NGO partners on webinars and multi-media highlighting the collective work of the Pacific Islands Climate Action Network (PICAN), helped promote Oxfam’s global report on climate change inequalities, and supported the Regional Director in her role as official representative of Oxfam in the Pacific at COP23.
